Ward Christmas Party- Night in Bethlehem

We had a wonderful time at our Ward Christmas Party this year.  The theme of the party this year was, “A Night in Bethlehem”.  We were told to dress as if we lived in the time of Christ’s Birth.  Paul and I had a lot of fun making little Shepherd costumes for the boys out of an old wool blanket!  They looked so adorable.  When we arrived, we had to give canned food as our tax payment and then we saw Roman soldiers standing guard and brusquely pointing the way.   Everyone brought blankets and sat on the floor with their families.  A marketplace had been set up, and we were each given a small bag of coins and a basket. With our coins, we got to purchase our dinners.  After dinner, there was a beautiful program depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.  Then the Primary kids sang a couple of songs.  It was a lot of fun watching Porter sing.  We left with a true feeling of Christmas and a joy of the birth of the Savior.  I’m so grateful for my Savior and that we can celebrate His birth and the life He lived.
