Porter Vids

The last couple of weeks, Porter has really figured out some awesome tricks. About 2 weeks ago he started crawling and can get anywhere he wants to go in just a couple of seconds. It is so cute to watch him go. This video is of one of the first times he ever crawled..he is so cute. Last week, he also started waving his hands for 'good bye and hi'!! Soooo adorable. He also has started being able to hold on anything to get himself to a standing position. He pulls himself up so he can stands up holding on to the couch, his crib, tables, chairs, etc. He is growing up so fast. Before I know it, he will be a toddler and not a little baby anymore. We hope that you enjoy this cute video of Porter. I was going to add a couple of videos, but I keep making them too long so they won't let me put them on here! I will remember to take some shorter ones next time!!

Fall Catch up!

WOW.. it has been a while since I have blogged, so here I am playing catch again. Just to warn you..there are tons of pictures on this post. We have really enjoyed the Fall season this year. I love everything about Fall. I love taking long walks in the cooler weather, I love wearing sweaters and jackets, cooking soups and stews and baking pies, celebrating Halloween and I especially love the changing colors of the leaves. This Fall, Porter and I have spent a great amount of time playing in the leaves. It has been so much fun watching him touch the leaves and listen to the crackling sounds that they make. Here are a bunch of pictures of Porter playing in the leaves.
We also found out last Monday, that we would be moving to a 4-plex in Bountiful. We found an awesome deal and moved 5 days later. Talk about stressful!! It is a lot harder to pack and unpack when you have a small baby. But our apartment is almost set up to how we like it. Living up here will be so much better for Paul making him much closer to his work and to school. We had been living with my family for a long time and will miss them a lot! We really appreciate my Mom for letting us live there for so long and for all that she did for us while we were there. We also really appreciate all of those that came and helped us move. Thanks so much everyone!!!

We had a WONDERFUL Halloween and I can't believe that it is over already. We had a very fun Halloween party at my aunts house a couple of weeks before Halloween and then celebrated on the 31st with my family. My Mom made an incredible Halloween dinner which included delicious Cream of potatoe and broccoli soup (served in a pumpkin), breadsticks (shaped like bones), yummy dip (with carrots 'fingers'), apple scary teeth, a cheese, meat and cracker platter, chips, and an awesome drink with 'fish' and 'fish eggs', etc. After dinner, we put Porter down for the night and we all watched 1408. It was super scary and perfect for Halloween night (even though I hated the ending.) For Halloween Porter was an adorable dragon. He was SUPER cute in his costume. Paul and I were supposed to be a knight and a princess to match Porter, but when we went shopping for costumes Paul saw a Wheaties box and had to be it for Halloween. (MEN..haha) So I found a "Lady of Versailles" costume.. and none of us matched..whoops! But we still have fun. And yes, I do know that my hair is showing in the front of my wig..haha! :)

Family Pictures Fall 2009

Last Saturday, Paul, Porter and I took a drive up American Fork Canyon to take some family pictures and also to see the beautiful Fall colors! I really need to take more advantage of the mountains that we are surrounded by, especially during the Fall season. What a beautiful place we live in! We enjoyed ourselves very much!

Porter and the Pumpkin Patch

We had a fun evening at the Pumpkin Patch in Riverton with Porter. It was his very first time at the Pumpkin Patch and he rode on a tractor and in a wheel barrow and got his picture with lots and lots of pumpkins. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

HAPPY 8 MONTHS PORTER

PORTER TURNED 8 MONTHS just 2 days ago! That means only 4 more months until our baby is 1 year. Time is flying way too quickly!! Porter is growing up way too fast..but we are enjoying every minute of it. What a fun stage that Porter is in right now. He has such a wonderful personality and is just such a hoot. He has this growling noise that he makes and it is absolutely hilarious. He babbles in this sweet little angel voice and then all of a sudden start to growl. I really need to get it on video because it is the funniest thing in the world. I tell everyone that he is just getting ready for Halloween.
He weighs: 18lbs6oz
His length is: 29 inches
He will be crawling in no time. He does this scooting thing that lets him slowly get where he wants to go. He also rolls back and forth from his back to his tummy and gets places that way. He does really well from getting from a crawling position back to sitting and from sitting to crawling. He still just LOVES to stand!! He will grab on anything and try to lift himself up to stand. He also loves holding your hands and walking and he does a very good job.

Porter is also talking a lot more. It is so much fun to hear him put sounds together. The last week or so, he has been saying "Dada" and so we consider that his first word ..so hopefully "Mama" will come soon as well!! While he is playing with his toys, he just "talks and talks to himself and it is so much fun to listen to. He also has the most adorable loud little laugh.

He loves taking baths and could play in the bath with his bath toys for hours and hours if I let him. He also loves watching baby Einstein, especially the dog. He absolutely loves reading books, especially with his Daddy and even turns the pages. He loves playing outside, especially now that the grass is covered in leaves.

Porter has been doing extremely well at falling asleep by himself at nights. If the room is very dark, we are able to stick him in his crib and he usually falls asleep after 5-10 minutes. He still gets up to drink a bottle about once a night (especially when he refuses to eat a good dinner.) He has his 2 bottom teeth now and they are so cute!! I think more teeth are coming shortly because he just drools and drools and most of the time he has to wear a bib throughout the day or else I am changing his shirt every 30 minutes.
Porter is curious about EVERYTHING! He is constantly looking around trying to find anything to grab and he wants to get into everything. When he holds things in his hand, his new game is to throw them on the floor and wait for you to pick them back up for him. He is also our little social butterfly. He makes the cutest little sounds around people trying to get their attention and has such a big and beautiful smile for everyone. At church there is a little girl that is a couple of months older than Porter. She crawls all over in Sunday school and Porter loves watching her. Every time she looks his way he claps for her and gives her a big cheesy smile. He is a heart breaker already.

We love you Porter so much!! You bring so much joy and love into our home and we love watching you grow and learn.

Our new best friend

For the last couple of weeks, at least, Porter has refused to eat his baby cereal! We tried everything to try and make him eat... adding different fruits and vegies, making it more runny, making it with juice, etc. Nothing seemed to work. At every meal, he would take maybe 2 bites and he was done. Most of the time he just closed his mouth and would turn his head, totally refusing to eat at all. We even bought different brands of rice and oatmeal baby cereal..but nothing seemed to help. During the night he started waking up about every 2-3 hours and would sometimes drink up to 3 bottles a night which let us know that he was STARVED!! We guessed that it was just because he was teething and his mouth hurt and so he didn't want to eat. We even called the pediatrician who suggested to just keep trying and start over on just the cereal without the vegies and fruit. FINALLY today I went to the store and found some baby cereal with yogurt for him to try and guess what? HE LOVED IT!!! He ate 2 bowls for breakfast and 2 bowls for dinner..YES! So hopefully this will fill him up and he will start sleeping through the nights again..poor kid!!

Guess what??

PORTER GOT HIS FIRST TOOTH on September 26th (Sorry I am blogging late)!!!! The last couple of weeks he had been extremely fussy and hadn't been sleeping well at all...poor guy!! His bottom gums had also been extremely swollen for a long time and so we were just waiting for his tooth to poke through.. and it finally did!! Here are some pictures of Porter showing off his new tooth!
