The doctor was very impressed with how well he was standing with support and said that it is comparable to a baby of 9 months. The doctor also said that he has incredibly strong legs and it was hard for the nurses to keep him still to give him the shot because he kept kicking his legs so hard...Good Job Porter!! Porters milestones are: He is extremely curious about everything and grabs and wants to play with everything. I have to be very careful while holding him while eating because he wants to grab everything on the table. He can sit alone for 3-4 minutes at a time, he can stand up holding on to things for usually about 30 seconds. He has started eating vegetables and so far has tried peas and carrots. He absolutely HATED peas and his whole body would quiver in disgust every time we fed him them. We gave him carrots for the first time today and ate them pretty well. He definitely liked them more than the peas. He is also getting very good at imitating sounds that you make. He clicks his tongue and smacks his lips and makes kissy sounds... it is so cute to watch. He loves people and is our little social guy. He has the most beautiful smile for everyone, and when he feels like he isn't getting enough attention, he has this cute little fake cough that he makes to try and get attention..it is so funny to listen to. I will have to make sure I get a video of it. He babbles and makes the most adorable sounds trying to get everyone's attention. He still HATES laying on his back and whenever you put him on his back he quickly lifts up his head and will keep his head raised until you help him up to stand. He also hates rolling.. but will do it once in a while. He is just to preoccupied with wanting to stand up. He is a wonderful night sleeper and usually goes down for the night at 10:00PM and wakes up at 10:00AM. He doesn't do so well in the nap department and takes a while to settle down enough to take naps. He loves playing peek-a-boo and pattycake and has such a great laugh. I love my little guy so much and am so incredibly grateful for his beautiful spirit and the happiness and joy that he brings into our home. Love you so much Porter...HAPPY SIX MONTHS!! My camera was stollen yesterday at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City and it had all of Porter's six month old pictures on it. I will take some more soon and add them, but until then.. Here is a couple of videos from last month that are a lot of fun! ENJOY! :)

PORTER IS 6 MONTHS
My baby is now half way to 1 years old!! Can you believe that? We went in for Porters six month appointment and were told that he weighs 15 lbs 8 oz (20th percentile), his height is 26 inches (40th percentile) and his head is 43.5 (45 percentile). He dropped in both weight and height percentiles which the doctor said was normal since he had such a jump at 4 months.

Mmmmm...icecream!!
So for the longest time I have heard the icecream truck driving past our house outside and the little kid in me wants to run out there every time he drives by and buy an icecream!! Paul thinks I am retarded because it costs like triple the amount for 1 icecream then it would for a whole pack of them at the store. But for some reason I think it is fun to run out there once in a while. So last week when I heard him drive by, Paul was at school and so I seized the moment and ran outside and bought a delicious chocolate covered vanilla stick. I let Porter have a lick of the icecream and he LOVED IT!! It was so cute because after his first lick he kept his tongue hanging out hoping for another lick. He just couldn't get enough. He made a mess but loved every minute of it!!

Fun times
A couple of weeks ago we had GIRLS NIGHT with my adorable nieces, my sister Donna and my Mom. We watched the movie "The Secret Lives of Bees" which is one of my favorite movies. We then made delicious smores and took a long walk in the dark. We had so much fun. The boys

weren't allowed upstairs and so they played video games all evening long downstairs. Everyone slept over and the next morning we had a HUGE breakfast full of bacon and sausage, waffles and eggs. Thanks girls for a wonderful time!

After the girls went home, I was feeling random and decided to go up to Bear Lake with Porter and my brother Shane and nephew Dexter for the day.
Some of my extended family members were spending the weekend up there and I thought it would be fun to spend a day with them. So we
packed up my car with treats and lake toys and took off for the day. It has been a tradition in my family for years and years to head up to Bear Lake every summer. My Dad's parents started going with their family and my Great Grandparents when my Dad was very young. I remember camping up there almost every summer while growing up! I have so many wonderful memories of Bear Lake and think it
is such a great family tradition. So I was super excited to take Porter there for his first time! It was also his first time swimming and for the most part he loved it! He was a little hesitant when we first put him in his little crab floater (he was so cute in it) but quickly adjusted. We had so much fun and loved the water. After playing in his floater for a while, we put him in his little bumbo near the shoreline and

he sat and splashed in it for over a half an hour. The waves would come and splash over his lap and he loved it. I got some way cute pictures of him with his cute little sun hat. My aunt DeAnn was such a life saver and let us use
her camper to change Porter and get him to nap. That was extremely helpful. She even babysat him while my cousin Carrie and I went swimming for a while. I didn't get any pictures of Shane and Dexter because they were clear out in the raft the whole time and when they came back my camera died.. :( so hopefully next time I will get more pictures. Even though we were only there
for half a day, we had tons of fun and will hopefully be able to go up soon again. Porter cried and cried the whole way home. Poor little guy. Shane and Dexter were extremely patient and took turns feeding him his bottle in the car. The day after we got home he had a really bad cold so he was probably just starting to come down with it that day..not fun.
That Sunday all of my brothers and sisters and their spouses and my cute nieces and nephews and my sister Natashas boyfriend and my Dad went up to Nun's Park to have a picnic. We had hoagie sandwiches, salads, chips, vegies and fruit and chocolate cake for dessert! :) It was so

relaxing and peaceful up there. It felt so good to get away from everyday life for a while and relax up there. It was so cool up in the mountains compared to the upper 90 degree weather that we have been experiencing. We had a wonderful time!

Last week, we celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday. 60 years old.. how exciting is that. On his actual birthday, Paul and I took him out to eat at Tucanos Brazillian Grill. That is our absolute

favorite place to eat and my Dad had never been there before so we thought it would be a great place to go. We ate and ate and ate until we popped. The waiters and waitresses sang to my Dad and made him dance which was halarious and we got it on video. Then last Sunday we had my

Dad's birthday party at my sister Donna's and brother in law Geoff's house. They put on an awesome barbecue and we had tons of wonderful food and my Dad received some awesome birthday gifts. We had a wonderful night spending time with family and celebrating my Dad's birthday. HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY DADDY! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!
