The Good Old Summertime

Just a catchup on our summertime fun the last couple of weeks. So sorry for all of the pictures, but I couldn't narrow them down very much. Porter is just too cute!!
To start out with, Porter and I decided to go to the water day afternoon at the Gallivan Center last week. It was WAY too hot of a day, but we had a lot of fun anyways. Porter drew pictures
took a ride in a firetruck

we had 'Got Milk' pictures taken ran through water fountains and just had a fun day.

We have also been spending lots of time at the park.
Isn't little Porter's smile just so contagious? I took one look at him, and I just want to melt. He is such a little Charmer.
And I love his hair in these pictures at the park. I just can't get over how incredibly handsome this little guy is. I just want to eat him up!
Porter and I also went to the Handcart Days here in Bountiful and Porter went on the little carnival swings for the first time. He did soooo well.
He fussed a tiny bit when they first started moving, but then he was totally fine. He also went fishing and won a cute little green lizard, and rode a handcart. And yes, we are still having lots of fun at Liberty Park. Porter got some new sunglasses the other day and wore him almost the whole time he was playing in the water. Paul things he looks like a space alien wearing them, but I think he looks super cute..haha! Hope you are all having a wonderful summer as well!!

Nursery

Yes, the day finally came..my little baby went to nursery for his first time last Sunday and of course we had to get some pictures of him on his first day. I have total mixed emotions about it. On the one hand, Relief Society and Sunday School have become extremely difficult trying to keep Porter entertained and quiet and not distractive to the others in the meeting. This little guy just has SO MUCH energy and has the hardest time sitting still. I even had one little old lady in my relief society ask me if I have ever tried giving him 'nature walks' to help get some of his energy out..haha! On the other hand, it makes me so emotional when I think that he will no longer be with me in those classes and that is he is just growing up so fast. I really will miss him in those meetings with me. But Paul and I decided that we would try letting Porter go to nursery a couple of weeks early. We dropped him off and the first thing he did was run to play with the toys and the other kids. He could care less that we were leaving. So instead of staying to help him get adjusted, we just left. After our first meeting, we stopped by the nursery and looked through the window to see how he was doing. He was crying by the door..so we went and picked him up. Well, he did well for the 1st hour.. I guess we will see how he does next week.

Batter Up

Porter LOVES being outside and since he didn't have too many outside toys, we went and bought him first T-ball set. Paul and I took him outside to play last week and he had so much fun. He caught on how to hit the ball and play very fast. He was absolutely adorable swinging the bat to hit the ball!! It was so halarious because after he got used to playing, he started making these grunting noises everytime he hit the ball..haha! I just can't believe how cute this little guy is and how fast he is growing up. He is just so much fun!!

The same day we bought the T-ball set, we also bought him this cute little truck that he drives around everywhere and makes the sounds affects of the truck..sooo halarious!

The Great Salt Lake

Last Wednesday, Donna and her kids invited Porter and I to go with them to swim at the Great Salt Lake. I was bummed that Paul was at work and couldn't go with us, but we will just have to plan another trip there sometime when Paul can get off work. I was super excited to go because I hadn't swam there since I was a little kid and plus it is always so much fun hanging out with my sister and cute nieces and nephews. First, everyone came over to our house to have lunch. We had sandwiches, chips, fruit and chocolate icecream bars. It was pretty yummy. Then we all piled in Donna's 15 passenger van and headed off. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN. I had forgotten how absolutely beautiful it is there. The walk down to the water was a little rough. We were all in sandles and the sand was SO HOT. Porter and I even had to stop a couple of times to sit in the sand to let our feet recover from the hot sand. Here we are sitting in the sand.

Here is our cute Great Salt Lake Gang

Here is my sister Donna and I.
At first when we got down to the beach, we were attacked by brine shrimp and they looked like gross little bugs EVERYWHERE. We were pretty grossed out but we just ran through them and once we got in the water, it was a lot better. Porter was super cute in his little crab, but we couldn't find the sun shade for it..whoops. But he loved it and just floated around while everyone else swam.

Donna and the kids decided to try and swim to the antelope island, and Porter and I stayed on shore. Porter had a lot of fun playing with his ball and drinking caprisons. I think he drank about 3 of them. He is so funny.

We took some cute pictures of the gang returning from their long swim.

We had a wonderful day. Thanks so much for inviting us everyone! We had so much fun!! Hopefully we can make it back there soon again!
