Paul is the BIG 3-0!!

Yes, it happened. Paul turned the BIG 3-0 on February 15th. On his actual birthday Paul had to work and so we celebrated that evening by going to Tucano's for dinner. Yummy yummy!! Here we are. I had a big surprise family party planned for him on February 19th and had reserved the Mutual Dell up American Fork Canyon for the party. I guess I am absolutely horrible at keeping secrets because little by little, Paul figured out my party surprises. So sad.. oh well, what do you do. That Saturday we were on our way up the canyon headed towards the dell with crazy snowy weather when we saw a big sign that said that the canyon was closed. We decided to venture forth anyway because we didn't see any barriers blocking the road and The Dell was just about 15 minutes up the canyon. We headed up for about 1o minutes when the roads turned incredibly icy and slippery. We were sliding all over the place and a couple of times we literally almost slid off the side of the mountain. It was so scary. (Yes, we were stupid for even trying.. I just wanted the party up there SO BAD). The funny (kind of) thing about it was that little Porter was in his car seat chanting over and over "pass away, bye bye". Ummm.. I have no idea where he picked that up from and why he chose to say it at that very minute, but it was very fitting. We decided to turn around. I was really stressed because the party was supposed to start in 1 1/2 hours from that time, and the guests would soon be leaving and we had no idea where to have the party. Luckily on the way down the mountain, we saw my Mom and Bill who were on their way to help us set up for the party. We decided to have the party at my Mom's house. We called all the guests, ran over to my Mom's house, and got everything set up just in time. I think the party went well and I really hope that Paul and everyone else enjoyed the party. One of the big surprises for Paul's party was that his Dad Doug, and his wife Dorothy drove down from Boise, Idaho to be at the party. Paul was so excited when he saw them. I am so glad that they were able to make it to the party. Thanks so much for driving all that way to support Paul Doug and Dorothy!!We started out the party with some yummy food (notice the awesome table centerpieces.. Paul cutouts..haha)
With the invitations that I mailed for Paul's birthday party, I included a little questionnaire for everyone to fill out about Paul. We all sat around after dinner and read our answers to Paul. It was so much fun. I think that was probably the highlight of the party. It was so much fun hearing everyone's answers. Everyone loves Paul so much. And then it was time for blowing out candles, eating cake and ice cream and opening presents.Paul got some amazing things! Thanks so much everyone! I made a DVD of a whole bunch of pictures of Paul through the years that played during the party. It was so much fun going through his old pictures. He was (and still is) such a handsome guy!! Here are some of my favorite pictures of him. All of the guests left with one of these 30 sugar cookie bags. Haha.. I am cheesy, but they were yummy!!Thank you so much everyone that came to Paul's party! You guys are wonderful!! We love you so much!! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL!! I hope that you enjoyed your birthday! I love you so much!!

Porter's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Porter's 2nd birthday party on February 12th. We had a transportation theme and I think Porter (and the rest of us) had a great time. Here's the cute birthday boy. Paul and I had a great time making this cute birthday banner. We had yummy food at his party and the best part was my Mom's home made corn dogs. Porter LOVES them. He couldn't get enough of them.Porter was definitely spoiled on his birthday and got tons of wonderful gifts. Thank so much everyone. And then it was time for blowing out candles on the birthday cake. Here is Porter's cake. Here is cute little Porter with his cute cake. I had so much fun making this cake.Porter did so well blowing out his candles. I think that was the highlight of the party for him.

Yummy icecream and cake. And next came the car pinata!! The kids were so cute banging on the pinata trying to break it. Haha..they make me laugh. The dumb thing was, for some reason they made the pinata out of card board so it was so hard to break. Paul had to whack the pinata a couple of times to finally make it break. But the kids still had fun. Here is Porter gathering up his loot. And Porter and his cute little friend Ryan enjoying their suckers. And here's cute little Ryan with his birthday hat on. He was the only one that we could get to wear the hat..haha! Here is my cute little niece Elsa. She is 10 months old and is so stinkin cute. Don't you love her little chubby cheeks and fly away hair. She is so adorable. I love this little girl. Porter had a lot of fun playing with her.And here is Porter at the end of his birthday bash. Parties sure wear you out. And here is my beautiful Mommy!! I am so thankful to her for letting us have his birthday party at her house. She is so wonderful and is always willing to sacrifice for her children. You can always count on her for anything. She is the best. We all love you so much Mom. Thank you so much!!! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY PORTER!! We hope that you had a wonderful party! We love you so much!
