Happy 1st Birthday Owen

Owen went from a beautiful little newborn

to this beautiful big boy in just 1 short year. 

Dear Owen,

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY SWEETHEART!!  I can’t believe that I am already wishing you a Happy 1st Birthday!!  Wow.. how fast time flies and what an absolutely joyful year that we have spent with you.  When I think of the past year, my heart is full of such happiness and joy.  The amount of peace, laughter and joy that you have brought into our home has been incredible.  You have such a beautiful spirit and your smile and happiness melts everyone’s heart.  You can’t go even 2 seconds without flashing your amazing smile.  I remember holding you for the first time.  You were white as a sheet and not breathing very well.  They were going to take you to a different room to see if they could get your breathing more regulated.  We decided to have me hold you for a little bit first.  I remember looking at you and feeling such a beautiful spirit.  I knew everything would be ok. Your body adjusted quickly to a beautiful pink color and your breathing regulated and I just held you and held you.  I never wanted to put you down.  Everyone comments on what a content and happy little guy you are.  You can’t be in the same room as you without feeling your special spirit.  Owen, it has been remarkable watching your beautiful little personality develop.  You LOVE being around people and making them smile.  You are such a peacemaker in our home and with those you come in contact with.  Owen, I can’t even tell you how incredibly thankful I am to our Heavenly Father for untrusting me enough to be your Mommy.  I have already learned so much from you and am so excited to see what adventures in life we will have together.  No matter what life brings, never ever forget how much your Mommy, Daddy, brothers and your Father in Heaven love you!  It is a love that surpasses everything.  We hope that have had a wonderful birthday!  We love you so much!!

I still can’t believe that Owen is 1 years old already!  WOW!!!!  And such a beautiful little 1 year old he is.  On Owen’s actual 1st birthday, we took him and his brothers and our little friend Dutch to the Recreation Center in Riverton to go swimming.  He loved playing in the fountains a lot and splashing in the water.  I think he had a great time and so did his brothers.

After swimming that evening it was time for Owen to open the present from us.

Then it was cupcake time.  It was so cute watching him being so amazed at the candle.

Then he dug in his cupcake.  He ate and ate..haha.  He was in chocolate heaven.  Poor little guy ate so much frosting that he threw up at the end.  But I think he thought it was worth it.

Happy Birthday Owen!!  Hope you had a wonderful day.  Excited to celebrate your birthday with the rest of the family in a couple of weeks.  We love you so much!

Donna’s Baby Shower

Yup.. my beautiful sister Donna is going to have a baby GIRL!  She is due on April 4th, and we are so beyond excited for her and Geoff.  I was lucky enough to help throw her a baby shower on January 31st.  We had so much fun planning and decorating for this shower.  Here is our gorgeous little Mommy!!

And here are some of the decorations and food items.  I think they turned out so cute!  And my Mom did such a wonderful job on the food.  She always goes all out to make sure that everything is perfect.  She is truly amazing!

Donna had so many people come and support her.  It was so much fun to see so many friends and family from all different parts of her life come to be there for her.   So many people love Donna, Geoff and their beautiful baby girl!

Natasha planned some super fun games.  We guessed how many mints and candies were in the bottle and whoever won, won the bottle (Julia Johnson won).

We played Tummy Tape where everyone cut off how much tummy tape they thought it would take to wrap around Donna and her cute belly!   Here the guests are measuring Donna and playing this game.

Then we played a super funny game.  We melted different candy bars in the middle of diapers.  The guests had to open the diaper and smell it to try and guess what kind of candy bar it was..haha.  It was pretty funny watching the faces on the guests. 

A ton of people did fabulous on this game and so we ‘rock, paper, scissored it to see who won’..haha!

Then it was present time.  Everyone was so incredibly giving and Donna got some wonderful presents for her little girl.    Little baby girl Morris will definitely be taken care of.  Thank you so much everyone for your thoughtfulness. 

We had a wonderful afternoon.  Now I think little baby is set so now hopefully time will fly and we can welcome little baby Morris into our family.  It is amazing how much I already love this beautiful little girl.  I am so excited for another beautiful little member to join our family.  We love you so much Donna and hope that you enjoyed your shower.
