Fun at Mish's House!

So yes, I am back to catching up on our Norway trip. Slowly but surely I'll get there. So aren't you curious where we lived while we were in Norway? Mish (My Norwegian Grandma) was so kind to let us stay at her house for a month while we were in Norway along with 7 other family members. So total, there were 10 of us living there. She definitely had a full house. I have so many memories of my Grandma's house. Whenever I come back to visit her, it is just like I am returning home. I love my Grandma Mish so much and am so thankful for all that she did for us while we were there. She is the best. Here is a picture of her house. And some views of her gorgeous backyard. The last picture is of my uncle Knut and Porter in the backyard.
She always spoils us rotten and cooks the best food. She is such a wonderful cook. Here are some of the family with my Grandma in her kitchen..one of our favorite hangout spots! :)

I can't even begin to tell you how incredible the food she makes is, but I can tell you that my favorite cake that she makes is definitely ROM KAKE..YUMMY! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Here she is making her famous recipe. And the next couple of pictures show some of the yummy food she made while we were there.
Here is Porter taking a bath in Mish's bathtub. He's such a silly boy. I am so glad that I got some pictures of Mish with Porter. The next time that she sees him, I am sure that he will be a lot more grownup..so I am glad we were able to get these pictures with his Great Grandma while he is still small. Here we are hanging out in Mish's living room. What a wonderful time we had at Mish's house in Norway!! Looking at these pictures makes me miss our time there and my Grandma so much!! Hopefully we will get a vacation there soon again!

Blueberry and Raspberry Pickin

While we were in Norway, my uncle Knut took us on a blueberry and raspberry pickin fest in the forests right by my Grandma's house. It was so much fun. My little sister Natasha was so nice to babysit Porter so Paul and I could go. It was a lot of fun, and we actually got TONS of berries. 3 jars full to be exact. Here is my brother in Law Colby's and brother Teddy's jar (only half full because they left us early.. and they actually got lost on the way home, ended up on some random road and had to hitchhike home..haha, but that is another story. Here I am picking my yummy berries. It took me so long to fill my jar full because I kept eating them. They are so much more delicious and HUGE when picked straight from the forest. Here is my sister Donna and uncle Knut picking away!
Here is the gang, minus Donna and Knut

We had a fun evening together. This is Porter when he ran outside to see us when we came home..haha, he was just a little hyper.

Morning walks in Norway

Some of my favorite memories while I was in Norway were of my morning walks with little Porter. Every morning right when he woke up (while everyone else was still asleep) we would head out for a morning walk. Here he is leaving my Grandma's house and then heading up the trail into the forest right behind my Grandma's house.

We did this almost every morning we were in Norway. My grandma lives in such a beautiful place surrounded by gorgeous Norwegian forests and these walks were so incredibly peaceful and relaxing for me and I really hope that Porter enjoyed them as well. It was so much fun to get some quiet time with Porter. I love this little guy so much. My family lived in Norway at my Grandma's house when I was 13. I remember playing a ton in the forests by her house. It was so much fun seeing Porter play in the same ones that I did. It also rains very often in Norway which I LOVE!! We bought Porter this cute little raincoat and used it very often for our morning walks. Here he is on one of our walks, having tons of fun in the rain.

Almost every morning he would stop and play with these flowers. He was so cute.

I know that I am pitiful and way too emotional, but I remember actually crying on our last walk together in Norway thinking that I didn't know when Porter and I would have the chance to be together in Norway again. And that the next time we would be here, Porter would be much older. I just remember thinking how much I was going to miss these morning walks in Norway with Porter. But I am so thankful for them and the memories that we shared.
