We were so excited when Paul bought us a weeks stay at a nice resort in Monterey California called Pajaro Dunes last September. We had an unbelievably amazing trip! My Mom, Shane, Donna, and Donna’s daughter, Anja, also joined us! http://www.pajarodunes.com/rentals/R001.php?UNIT=S037&TYPE=S
Here are those in our van starting out our journey! Paul and Shane drove in the other car. You are going to laugh, but just about 2 hours into our journey.. I look down at my gas and realize that we had forgotten to fill up the gas before we left and we were pretty much on empty and out in the middle of nowhere. We drove as far as we could and then completely ran out of gas. We were stranded on the side of the road!
Shane and I drove my Mom’s car to the next city (about 15 minutes away), got gas, and brought it back. Everyone was so patient with that little mishap that started out our trip..and then we were on our way again!
The kids were exceptional travelers.
I cannot for the life of me remember where we stopped to stay that first night. But it was about 2 hours North of Monterey Bay. So we drove about 8 hours that first day. Here the kids are taking a much needed bath after the long drive and finally being able to crash.
The next morning the hotel offered an amazing breakfast. We had waffles, sausages, bacon, eggs, muffins, biscuits and gravy, etc. It was a good start to our day.
Then while everyone else finished eating breakfast, I took the kids down for a little swim. They loved it!!
Then we showered, packed up, and drove the rest of the way to Monterey, California. We were so excited when we saw Pajaro Dunes. It was such a beautiful place and our room was just a couple of seconds from the beach! It was absolutely incredible and we were so excited to spend the week.
That night we ordered Chinese Food for dinner and then put the boys to sleep. Then my Mom stayed with the boys while Paul and I and Donna and Shane took a long evening walk on the beach. It was so nice and relaxing!
What an amazing place!
