I am so incredibly proud to be an American. I am so blessed and honored to be a citizen of this great nation. I love this country and am so thankful for all of the men and women that have sacrificed so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we have today. Thank you to all of the brave men and women who have fought and who are fighting for our country.
The 4th of July is one of favorite holidays!! And we had a wonderful one this year. We started out the festivities on July 3rd with a fun evening at my Grandmas house. We have had this tradition of having dinner and watching the Granite High School fireworks at her house for as long as I can remember.
Her house is right behind the school so we have the perfect view and we always have such a great time. Porter had a blast playing with my cousin Tracy’s little boy Corbyn.
Here I am with my sweet little boys
Porter had a blast doing sparklers.
The fireworks were so much fun. I was wondering how Kaden was going to do with them, but they didn’t phase him at all. He even fell asleep right before they were over. Silly little kid.
Here’s Porter and Corbyn getting ready for the fireworks eating their icecream bars. Cute little boys.
And after the show the kids were all running around acting silly.
The next morning on July 4th, we headed to the West Jordan parade with my sister Donna, her husband Geoff and my nieces Whitney and Katharine. The parade was so much fun..but it was soo hot. Next year we will be more prepared with lots of drinks and cold snacks!!
Here is sweet little Kaden on his first 4th of July. Look at this adorable smiley baby!! What a little sweetheart.
We had an amazing barbecue put on my my amazing Mommy!!
And then comes the firework part of the night. So my husband really really really likes fireworks. Like (besides me and our boys) it’s his most favorite thing in the world..haha. So he spent tons of money and bought some amazing fireworks. We were sitting outside watching them when all of a sudden, there were fireworks shooting right past us. For some reason tons of the fireworks started miss shooting. Sooo scary!! One of the fireworks sent tons of sparks across the field we were sitting by. So crazy! So then most of us decided to move across the street to be a little further away from the crazy fireworks.
As we were watching the fireworks from across the street, all of a sudden I hear Paul and my brothers scream “FIRE”. We look across the field and one of their fireworks had lit the grass in front of a house on fire. Paul and my brothers took off after the fire trying to stomp it out. It quickly spread under the fence. My brother Shane jumped the fence and our neighbors brought over buckets of water. Luckily, they were able to put the fire out quickly before any damage was done. So so so so so crazy! I think that will be Paul’s last firework show for a while..haha. Just kidding babe! Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!
