Our 18 month old "baby"

HAPPY 18 MONTHS PORTER! Yes, I am behind on this post, but at least it will be done before he turns 19 months (tomorrow).

I still can't believe that our little baby is 18 months. I know that at 33 inches and 27 lbs, he is anything but a 'baby', but he is for sure always going to be my baby.. even if he ends up 6'5 like his daddy.
Porter turned 18 months while we were in Norway and these 3 pictures were taken on the day he turned 18 months. The first one is my favorite. Isn't this little guy just the handsomest little kid you have ever seen. He is just perfect in every way.
THINGS THAT PORTER LOVES:

- He loves to run and jump. This kid never quits. It is so funny to see how high this little guy can actually get off the ground when he jumps. And he never walks anywhere. He is constantly running, and he is fast too. He is definitely hard to keep up with.

- He loves animals, especially cats. Whenever he sees a little kitty, he runs right up to it and makes the cutest little meow sounds. All the kittens always get big hugs and kisses from him.
- He LOVES dancing and music. The second he hears music anywhere he immediately starts dancing or at least moving some part of his body. This kids rhythem is amazing. He definitely can feel the music.
He honestly is extremely talented in music.. we can tell already. I have had tons of people tell me how awesome this kid dances.

- He loves his blankie. Whenever Porter is tired, the first thing he does it grab his blankie. He puts it up to his head to cuddle with it. He then comes and finds one of us so that he we can cuddle with him. It is the cutest thing in the world.
- He loves other kids. Whenever he is around kids he is so happy. He will run up to any kid and just babble and babble and he automatically thinks that they are his best friend. He is so friendly.
- He loves vegetables!! Carrots and corn are his favorite, but he really will eat any vegetable.
- He loves to color. It is so much fun watching Porter color. He will make some cute squiggly lines and then point to it and say something.. like dog or hat. So cute. So you can already see his creativity coming out. He also holds his crayons and pencils very carefully and you can just see how hard he is concentrating.
- He LOVES his Daddy. The first thing that Porter says in the morning when I get him out of his crib (if Daddy has already left for work) is Daddy? Daddy? And right when he hears Paul coming up the stairs from work he runs to the door with a big grin on his face and says DADDY! It is so neat to see how much he loves and adores his Daddy. They have such a special relationship.
PORTER'S MILESTONS AND PERSONALITY:

-Porter understands almost EVERYTHING that we say to him and his vocabulary is increasing everyday. He is such a smart little cookie. He's still not a big real word talker, but he baby talks A LOT. And by a lot I mean he babbles and babbles and babbles. It is the funniest thing to listen to because he uses so many facial expressions and hand gestures. And he definitely knows what he is saying. The other day he was babbling and then at the end he just started laughing uncontrollable. I wish I knew what he was saying. He cracks me up. He says a lot of 'real' words, but usually it is just the first part of the word..but we understand what he is saying.
- He knows almost all of his body parts.
- He throws and kicks balls so well. When we say, "Porter.. big throw" he gets all excited and throws the ball as hard and far as he can. He also loves kicking the ball back and forth to us.
- Porter loves to imitate everything that we do. He is so good at helping to empty the dishwasher. He will hand me all of the items in it so that I can put them away. He also loves to help put clothes into the washing machine. He is also getting extremely well at putting away his toys when he is done playing with them. He loves to help mix and pour the foods when I am cooking and baking. When he spills something, we always hand him a rag and he cleans it up..sooo cute!
- He is so affectionate and will come running up to you with his arms wide open for a big hug. And he is so loving to his stuffed animals and loves to share his food and drinks with them.
- It is amazing to watch Porter at the park. He climbs up and down everything by himself so well and quickly and loves to go down the slides backwards and forwards. He is such a daredevil. - He has a very short attention span and will only read books, watch TV or movies, etc. for a very short time. He just loves to be outside and moving.
- Porter does so well at kneeling and folding his arms when we pray and will keep them folded through the whole prayer most of the time. We are still working on closing his eyes. He is so adorable
- He has started covering his mouth when he coughs and will pretend cough just so he can cover his mouth.
- He tries to give high fives to the people on the TV and to his stuffed animals..it is
- He has had MANY rough nights the last couple of weeks because of teething. I swear that he has received like 6 teeth in the last little while..poor little guy, and already has four molars.
Well there are so many other things about Porter that I haven't listed, but he is just the best little guy ever. I am so in love with my little boy! Mommy and Daddy love you so much Porter and are so proud of you now and the wonderful person that you are becoming.

He is so adorable! You do such a good job at documenting his cuteness! Ryan is 18 months today and I don't even know where to start. :) You are such a good mom. I love all the pictures you put up and I know that Porter is so lucky!
