1st Trip to the Dentist

Yes, I get the slacker mom of the year award.  My Porter is 4 years old, and this was his first trip to the dentist.  When we have spoken of the dentist before, Porter has had a lot of anxiety and would end up in tears and so I kept putting it off.  Finally I got in gear and found this awesome place called Berg Pediatric Dentistry. http://www.burgpediatricdentistry.com/

Yes, this place was absolutely amazing!!  The theme was superheroes and every time the kids come to see the dentist, they get a piece of a super hero costume. So on their first visit, they got their very own super hero cape to keep.  They LOVED it and thought it was the coolest thing ever.  Here they are playing with the toys in the waiting room and wearing their awesome super hero capes.

Then when they got called to go back to get their teeth checked, there was a huge pile of funny hats that they got to choose to wear.  Porter chose an elephant hat

And Kaden chose (what he called) a Frosty the Snowman hat..haha.

The boys did such an incredible job!!  Little Porter did everything that he was asked perfectly!  They got to choose their own toothpaste for the dentist to brush their teeth with, and Porter was so excited that he could choose chocolate toothpaste.  He got his X-rays and did wonderfully!

Even little Kaden let the dentist check out his teeth.  Such a cutie!!

When they were all done, they got a bag full of all kinds of fun stuff and they got to choose a toy from the toy box.

And they both had no cavities… YAY.. and so they both got their picture taken to put on the no cavity wall!

Yay.. our first trip to the dentist for our boys was a huge success.  So grateful for this fun place that made our trip to the dentist a little less scary!  When we left to go home Porter said, “I can’t wait until I can go back to the dentist”.  Yay, this is what we want to hear!
